We’ve had a busy summer working on several custom projects and adding lots of new designs to our store. Each of them is special to us and helped us grow and learn as we build our business. You may not know it meeting him today, but Marcin grew up in Orange County California. This summer, our friends and goddaughter came to our little ranch to visit for a few days. Watching her meet the animals and make friends with Junior (our lovable bull) was so fun to watch - she wasn’t intimidated one bit! Of course we had to make something for her to take home and since her favorite color is pink, a little sign for her big girl bed was a given.
Since our friends drove out here, we took advantage of that to send home a few more items for our west coast friends and family. Another good friend is a firefighter in LA County and asked us to make something commemorative for his firehouse #49. We had a little battle getting this one created because the initial design had some weak points that we had to correct and then we discovered we didn’t have a container large enough to soak it in to remove the mill scale (we’ve since fixed that problem :)). Then we tested Marcin’s painting skills with a two tone dye job. They dye makes you work for it, but it gives such a rich color that it’s totally worth it!
Summer Spirit
One of our other projects this summer was bringing some color and summer spirit to another friend’s home. It was fun stretching myself into more abstract drawing and really learning how to use our design program. The final product came out great!
